Reserve Chardonnay
Tasting Notes
Our Clos du Bois Sonoma Reserve Chardonnay is a bright, refreshing white wine from the Russian River Valley. Aromas of orange flower and Tahitian vanilla rise from the glass. Notes of lemon crème fill the palate with juicy layers of ripe Anjou pear and apple. The finish is luscious with hints of toasted oak and ground cinnamon.
Viticulture Notes
A majority of the grapes for this wine originated from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, California, an appellation that offers ideal conditions for cool-climate Chardonnay. The 2022 growing season was warmer than normal with average crop yields. Increasing temperatures hastened harvest during August, which produced smaller yields of highly concentrated berries.

Winemaking Notes
The juice for this wine was mostly fermented in French oak barrels, with a portion undergoing fermentation at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruit characteristics and brightness. After the completion of alcoholic fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged sur lie style in French barrels for about 10 months, utilizing the bâtonnage method to impart a rich, complex mouthfeel.
