Marbleized Wine Coasters

  • 4.25" square white tiles
  • Clear rubber bumper pads (¼" size preferred)
  • 3-4 nail polishes in colors of your choice
  • Plastic bowl to hold in water
  • Warm water
  • Toothpicks or skewers
  • Disposable rubber gloves
  • Nail polish remover and cotton pads (for cleanup)

  1. Fill bowl halfway with warm water
  2. Next carefully drop a few drops of nail polish into the water keeping your hand close to the surface so that the drops of nail polish don't sink straight down
  3. Add a few more drops of a different color – don't worry about where the drops go you can always move them around with the toothpick
  4. Once all the desired colors are in the water, slowly and lightly swirl and move colors around using a toothpick or skewer to create marbleized pattern
  5. Put on rubber gloves, flip the tile over so the finished side is towards the water and touch the surface of the tile to the water then carefully lift it up and flip it over. The design that was on the water will have transferred onto the tile
  6. Set the tile aside on a clean plate to dry for 15 minutes
  7. Repeat process with a fresh plate and water for the rest of the coasters
  8. Once the tiles have dried you can seal them (if desired) with a satin finish clear spray and adhere bumpers to the bottom of each tile to prevent scratching
  9. Pour a glass of Lightly Bubbled wine and put your beautiful new wine coasters to use!
